Here are some essential maintenance tips for keeping your filtration system running smoothly.

(1) Filter Maintenance

• Never operate the multiport valve while the system is under pressure.
  Always turn off the pump before switching the valve to a new position.

• Ensure the multiport valve is fully locked into place before restarting the system.

• Backwash the filter when pressure rises above 2.5 kg/cm² (approximately 35.5 psi). This prevents clogging and keeps filtration efficient.

Pre-Start Checklist:

• Set the multiport valve to “Filter” mode before turning on the pump.

• Confirm that all pipeline valves are in the correct positions.

• Check the hair and lint strainer: Clean it if blocked.

• Inspect for air inside the system: If present, release it before starting.

(2) Filter Backwash Procedure

1. Turn off the pump before backwashing.

2. Set the multiport valve to “Backwash”.

3. Double-check that valves on the pipeline are properly positioned.

4. Turn the pump back on and observe the sight glass on the filter tank. Once the water runs clear, turn off the pump.

🔄 Tip: If no sight glass is available, run the backwash cycle for 2–3 minutes.

(3) Rinse After Backwash

After backwashing, it’s important to perform a rinse to prevent dirty water from re-entering the pool.

Rinse Steps:

1. Confirm that backwash is complete and the pump is off.

2. Switch the multiport valve to “Rinse”.

3. Ensure the valves are in the correct configuration.

4. Turn the pump on and rinse for 1–2 minutes, or until the sight glass shows clean water.

5. Turn off the pump before switching to the “Filter” mode again.
