A Local Baby With Special Needs Is Making Strides Thanks to Mambobaby Float
For one local family, a simple flotation device has opened the door to progress they never thought possible.
Seventeen-month-old Briar Kiesewetter was born prematurely, weighing just one pound. Today, thanks to the support of a baby flotation device, he’s making strides in ways his parents once only dreamed of.
Briar lives with a genetic disorder that causes developmental delays and muscle challenges. But with the help of his Mambobaby float, bath time has turned into more than just play — it’s become a form of therapy.
“He enjoys his bath time now, and it’s also good because it helps to strengthen and build his muscle tone,” said Briar’s father, Kyle.
“You can tell he gets frustrated on the ground when he wants to go and do things and he can’t. So, I think it’s huge for him to be able to move on his own,” added his mother, Christina.
Independence in the Water
With his float, Briar can enjoy freedom of movement that isn’t possible on land. The device gives him the ability to kick, splash, and explore safely — building both his motor skills and confidence.
Seeing how effective the float has been for Briar, the Kiesewetters have generously donated Mambobaby floats to his physical therapy center, ensuring other children with special needs can benefit as well.
More Than Just a Float
Unlike any traditional “floatie,” the Mambobaby float is designed to provide comfort, safety, and developmental benefits. It offers babies and young children a new sense of independent mobility, while also making the transition to swimming easier.
Researchers are currently conducting studies on how Mambobaby floats may support motor and psychological development, with early signs suggesting they could help children achieve milestones earlier.
A Growing Community of Parents
Mothers like Julia Forbes, who uses and shares her experiences with Mambobaby, say the float has been a game-changer. “We love it so much — it’s given us more joyful moments and peace of mind,” she said.
For families like the Kiesewetters, Mambobaby isn’t just a flotation device — it’s a way for their child to discover independence, joy, and strength, one splash at a time.
